Is my data safe when I delete build caches?

Yes, folders like node_modules, /target, .next, and DerivedData are fully regenerable. Your next build will recreate them automatically.

Does LumaDisk work on external drives?

Yes, full support for external drives. Network volumes are supported in read-only mode.
